THE SERIES: ALL ABOUT CONFIDENCE

THE SERIES: ALL ABOUT CONFIDENCE

💌HEY READERS 💌

Hope you’re all doing well! It’s been a little over a year since I started my blog and at times it still shocks me how I’ve been able to connect and talk to so many of you just by sharing what I truly believe in. Whether it’s my top self care acts, my current favourite fashion trends, the lessons I’ve learned about how to bounce back or finding your definition of confidence, I’m truly blessed and grateful to have a platform on Instagram and word press to share my insights. On top of that, I’ve met so many fascinating and inspirational entrepreneurs that have big goals when it comes to their passion. And as a result of that, I just want to talk about my very first wellness and body positivity event that I’m hosting here in Hong Kong!!

THE CONFIDENCE GALLERY

A wellness networking pop up store that celebrates uniqueness from within & without. I truly hope to create a day that celebrates vulnerability and each of our uniqueness.

As a lifestyle blogger ( katchingvibeswithkat.com) and entrepreneur, I usually share my insights through the online community. As powerful as I’ve experienced the online community can be, I also hope to bring these similar feelings to the face to face world through building a safe zone for people to feel vulnerable and embrace their authentic selves.

We live in such a judgemental world where self-criticism, hatred, and unhealthy body comparisons are very real and impactful. Along with being in the midst of the rising digital era, it has made it even more challenging for many’s mental health. Therefore, I do hope this event can be served as a day where our community not only aim towards breaking the down unrealistic standards of beauty but can celebrate every individual’s uniqueness from within and without.

On the day ( this coming Saturday) there will be photo booths, drinks, food, speeches from three insightful entrepreneurs and a marketplace for guests to buy their favourite wellness products sponsored by several vendors.

HERE’S A SNEAK PEEK

” It’s not narcissistic to celebrate who you are. That’s creative, don’t hide that light! shine through”

– Kat Tse

Part of building your confidence comes from believing, embracing and loving who you completely are. So much easier said than done, but don’t hide your authentic part just because society has been shaped a certain way, believe in yourself.

Can’t wait to share more with all of you around the world!

Ur 2021 summer guide to living your best life….

Ur 2021 summer guide to living your best life….

With the scorching sun making its way to mid June and with the city re opening ( Here in Hong Kong) , this summer is bound to be different from the last one. If you either notice a group of people swarming and rushing towards the ocean waves or hitting the new clubs over the weekends, you’ll know that this summer is far different from the last. So what better timing than to share some of my personal advice on how you can live your best and most vibrant life this summer…..

What do you mean by living your best life ?

https://www.pinterest.com/pin/14214555064246714/

When we ask the question of what living your life means, everyone’s going to have a different answer. But something common I’ve noticed is the importance of feeling both mentally and physically confident with who you are: your authentic self – not the facade that you put onto the world.

Part of living your best life is learning how to cope with your stress through finding a balance, motivating, CHALLENGING yourself and most importantly do things you love FOR YOU and not for anyone else. It’s also having a better understanding of your own energy. However, the part that we all differ is the question of WHAT can you do or what are the BABY steps that you should take to ensure you are truly satisfied fulfilled and content with yourself.

For me, living my best life comes with a healthy routine, working through my emotions or concerns instead of suppressing, self care acts, investing time into the things that make me feel happy, being surrounded by the people that can lift me up and the work hard, play hard mindset.

MENTALLY THRIVING

Setting new goals, challenging yourself, pursing your passions: I’m a strong believer in learning how to love yourself and finding success from your passions. But honestly, this could mean anything. From individual workout goals to hiking on a new trail or even working on a passion project. On top of that, when you surround yourself with likeminded people as you, that’s where the motivation and creativity kicks in.

Learning how to cope with your stress: we all face stress. You might have those days where you have too much on your plate and you feel as if your jar is overflowing with work and papers due, but here are some ways that can help when it comes to managing stress

Don’t forget to heal: yes, some may say what if I don’t have anything to heal from? or what if I don’t want to heal because I can’t endure the pain of thinking of the past and I’m ready to move on…. but healing isn’t linear so once you do some soul searching, you’ll be able to become even more vulnerable with who you are.

ACTIVITIES

Part of living your life can include trying new things out of your comfort zone. This may not apply to everyone as we all have different preferences but I’m someone who not only enjoys to become introverted from now and then at home, but to spend time in mother nature. Here are just some examples and some positive summer activities that could lift your energy up from now and then…

AFTER THOUGHT

If there’s one thing that the pandemic has taught us, it’s the importance of learning how to take care of yourself from the boredom that many of us faced during times of quarantine. Since we can’t control the external factors, we do have the power to control what can make us feel better about ourselves. These small steps can help you find what will make you feel content with your life…

🌃Your 3 day guide into the city that never sleeps

🌃Your 3 day guide into the city that never sleeps

New York City. the lights , the music, the fashion, the food – all encapsulates the beauty of the city

I’ll be honest: The truth is, there’s no way to explore all of New York within 3 days. From the exhilarating and lively Times Square to the enchanting prestigious Upper East side, even the streets in between can already takes days for you to explore. But there are definitely a few go to spots that I have to mention.

____

Since the start of this blog, learning and exploring my fashion style has always been something that grounds me. “True beauty shines when you focus on the style that you love!” and if you’ve never been to the big apple, even being there for a couple of days has made the fashion vibes feel more real than ever. From every corner you can see a diversity of fashion aesthetics – from streetwear to vintage, to chic looks it just all shows how much NYC loves fashion but in particular in the streets of Fifth Avenue, Soho and Madison!

THE ELGIN

64 W 48th St, New York

Just a two minute walk from the well known top of the rock, comes a bar & restaurant that serves delicious warm food ranging from roast beef sandwiches to burgers to homemade cream soup. The outdoor atmosphere captures all of New York’s street vibes and the french onion soup burger served with fries ( image below) is what you would want to get for lunch / dinner.

5TH AVENUE: THE MET & CENTRAL PARK

This street is perfect for you if you enjoy anything related to arts, museums, outdoors scenery! ( Central Park), shops or more towards the luxury vibes. I also love it here as there are way too many iconic Gossip Girl scenes @themetsteps but it also gave me a chance to dress up to another style of mine that I love. ( winter/ spring fashion fits)

THE MET
CENTRAL PARK

SOHO DISTRICT

Heading to lower Manhattan is where Soho district is at. This part of New York has a ton of trendy vibes, art galleries, architectures and stores . Soho gives off amazing street wear / street style vibes and has one of the best coffee stores. If I had more time, I do wish to explore around some of the hidden parts of this area.

QUICK SNACKS ❤

Milk Bar

My all time favourite dessert place! there’s a collection of Funfetti layered cakes, ice cream with cereal crunch, cake truffles pies and more! unfortunately, due to COVID quite a number of stores are temporarily closed, but the one near Soho is currently open!

Pizza loves Emily

If you head to West Village, you’ve got to head over to this restaurant ( photo on the right) where they serve scrumptious cheesy garlic sticks , pizzas and burgers!

Levain Bakery

NYC’s most famous cookies!

How to stay safe when travelling during the pandemic

It can be quite different and hard to travel during the midst of the pandemic, but as I was just 4 hours away from New York city, my friends and I decided to take a train. Just a reminder to wear a mask whenever you’re out, follow the social distancing rules and to always have good personal hygiene.

*also there are a ton of more amazing areas but these are just some of my top highlights from the trip

My top 7 self-care quarantine tips

My top 7 self-care quarantine tips

For many of us, quarantine was a new experience. Some of us struggled through the days of boredom ( even getting our entire sleep schedule messed up oop!), while others aimed for that quarantine glow up and stayed productive.

But for me, it was quite a new experience. Online school was not only new but being stuck at home for most of the time was especially different from the busy lifestyle I’d grown up in.

I was practically forced to spend time with myself. I needed something to keep me grounded under all this uncertainty. One of the many things that kept me grounded was getting into the world of aesthetics- where I developed my passion for fashion and found my style.

MY TOP 7 SELF CARE QUARANTINE TIPS

that also helped me step into self love *just a reminder there’s a difference between self-care and self-love

Matcha and Meditation

I love drinking matcha( especially in the morning) so during quarantine I would combine this with my meditation practices! Click this link to learn more about how I make my own matcha and what are some of the health benefits.

The Pinterest scan – to find my style

One of the biggest turning points for me during quarantine was definitely finding my own style and discovering my passion for fashion. Whether it’s trendsetting streetwear, Y2k aesthetics, or just simple thrifting, these were some of my go-to inspirations where I discovered my aesthetics.

And It was from there I realized

Chloe ting’s workout:

With quarantine, I transitioned to at-home workout. This way, I can continue to feel good about myself, keep in shape, and one of my favourite routines were Chloe tings workout

Netflix and face mask:

I’m sure most of us watched tv shows or movies during the days of lockdown (or still are!) so I added a face mask,  part of my skincare routine, with a Netflix movie and get all cozy.

Clean/ Room decor:

It could be reorganizing your closets or even just a simple clean up. For me, changing my entire room to the minimalist vibe really spoke to me as a step to finding my authentic style

DIY activities :

This is also a great time to get into some DIY ( do it yourself) activities to help you explore your creativity and can also act as a therapeutic hobby!

GAMING

To me, gaming is a self-care activity. Especially with quarantine, I definitely thought it was a great way to connect with your friends as well as maintaining a balanced lifestyle.

AFTERTHOUGHT

Though I’ve mentioned these 7 self-care things to do, there’s always another list, these are just my personal favourites. Don’t force yourself to become busy when it comes to self-love or alone time, try to find what genuinely brings joy to your life.

New to the healthy lifestyle?

New to the healthy lifestyle?

Whether it was an experience that sparked you, a change in breaking out of bad habits, or just the thought of wanting to strive for a healthier outer and inner feeling,  I know that these can all be overwhelming when you want to first change your lifestyle habits. From wanting to have a certain lean toned body to learning what body positivity means, maintaining a healthier lifestyle habit can range from all sorts of topics but achievable in the right approach.

Personally, I call the goal of maintaining a healthier lifestyle as another act of self-love and self-care. To me, setting goals to change my lifestyle habits means being aware of the vibes I choose for my body, mind, and heart.

So here are my insights into these 5 different lifestyle aspects:  mental health, food, body, growth, and working out.

 The realistic mindset

This can apply to everyone under different extents but my tip for this is to be practical with the changes you want to make. Don’t overwork yourself, list out your goals to help you stay motivated and be proud of the small changes you’ve done!

Body positivity

Honestly, start the grateful practice. A lot of the times we worry about how others view our image and let that critical voice in our head get to us, so as repetitive as it may sound start the practice. It can be as simple as 3 things you like about yourself or your surroundings. By being aware and starting to appreciate what you have can shift your mindset of how you view things.

Change your vibe:

In my last post, I’ve talked a lot about how having good authentic vibes can be a step to self-love. When it comes to switching to that healthier lifestyle feeling there’s no difference. So whether it’s a room makeover to find your style or being aware and letting go of past mistakes, changing your vibe and how you approach life can definitely benefit your wellbeing in a healthy way.

Working out:

Working out is great for your physical and mental health but one thing I used to do was over challenge myself. So if you’re new to working out, start with a goal each day and review what you’ve done by the end of the week. Go at your own pace and take it easy too!

Adding healthy food I’m not saying to cut out what you love to eat, but if you want to get into the healthy vibes, go ahead and add some avocados to your scrambled eggs, try out some matcha, eat less before you sleep and add some healthy oils to your meal.

Morning Matcha &Meditation

Morning Matcha &Meditation

I got into meditation around this time last year but it wasn’t until half a year later that I  realized there was a huge difference to how I felt overall.  I became a lot more aware of my body by being present. I started to find ways to let go of my past and to embrace my flaws. I’ve learned, and am still learning, to put myself first and to seek my own validation from within.

On top of that, I got into drinking matcha.

So you may ask why drink matcha? Isn’t it the same as green tea?

well here are 8 reasons to why matcha is great for your overall wellbeing.

. Matcha is the healthiest type of  green tea but in a powder-like form.

.compared to coffee where you mostlikely crash after a boost of energy, matcha brings out a positive calming energy throughout the day.

.  It’s also great for your immune system

. it can help control your stress in a more calming manner

. Matcha can help lose weight since it acts as a fat blocker and boosts your metabolism.

.It’s known as a “nutritional powerhouse” that is loaded with antitoxins

. it can help with reducing cancer risk

. and lastly it can greatly help when it comes to improving your skin

So here’s my morning matcha recipe:

After thought

Of course you don’t have to drink matcha before and after you meditate but personally this gives me more motivation to my mornings. I not only feel much more calm when I start my morning routine this way, but it gives me a reflective mindset for the rest of the day.
